What is love !!!

Love is a Might Power.
It is the energy of life. It bring us into life and sustains us while we live and breathe.
Love is an energy, not a substance. It is essence, not matter. You can not contain it; you can not put it in a box, but you can feel it, you can taste it, and know it.Its presence is unmistakable. It is exquisite and profound.      And when you are expressing love, nobody, not your best friend, your parents or even your own mind can talk you out of it.
Love is mysterious and beautiful. it makes us happy, gives us hope, allows us to believe that the impossible can happen.

And yet, it is inexplicable. it can not be defined or analyzed, cataloged or priced. Its premier property is that when it exists, it can never be mistaken for anything else, and nothing else, no matter how worthwhile or supposedly grand, can ever be passed off as love.

Love is a divine energy that steps into human circumstances, a timeless essence that enters time. It is older, wiser, finer, truer, sweeter, and more radiant than any human being itself. It is what makes us wise, fine, true, sweet, and radiant. It is best - the essence of God - in us.
~ Daphane R. Kingma

May we feel the amazing 'essence of God' in us and express it unconditionally; as we express out we are also bringing in!

Have a magnificent day ~ Namaste

"The Flows of our Inner Selves"

As I went through the many 'flows of my own selves' today,  I reconnected with the preciousness of life, as every and each moment just exists in the now !!

Last night, as I participated in a beautiful 'Fire Walk Ceremony' I received an awesome reminder, the words of Heraclitus: "You can't step into the same river twice".

As the "present" is a slippery little concept,  a snapshot of a moment. ~ Nothing stands still.

For that I share a poem with you.

You
You may not think the world needs you, but it does.
For you are unique, like no one that has ever come before or will come after.
No one can speak your voice, say your piece, smile your smile or shine your light.
No one can take your place, for it is yours alone to fill.
If you are not there to shine your light,
who knows how many travelers will lose their way
as they try to pass by your empty place in the darkness.

Are You a reflection of Nature ? Is Nature a reflection of You ?

Two days ago during one of my "nature watching moments" I caught myself mesmerized with 3 bunnies playing and running around on a field of wild grass, showing no signs of fatigue, worries or fear. Surely the presence of predators in the wild is inevitable, but at that particular moment they were totally and completely immersed in the magic of the now.

Suddenly I observe my thoughts (and being on the 7th day of a body cleanse, I feel a bit more in-tune with my thoughts, feeling and awareness of what is going on inside of me and around me) and within the flow of thoughts, the question of prime importance was, 'Am i being fully present within each moment of my day?'
As quite often I say, share and hear  within the practice of Yoga "...feel your body grounding on Earth, feel and sense the Earth, feel Nature, breathe in to the awareness of being the reflection of Nature, as Nature is the reflection of you..."
With that in mind, being me the reflection of Nature how much during my day do I feel light as the clouds, strong as the rain, rooted as the oak tree, flexible as the willow, bright

as the sunflower, wild as the open ocean, determined as the humming bird ?
Well, you got the point. Leaping from here to Nature as reflection of me/us, I keep on observing the overall planet Earth's weather patterns lately, wild tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, erupting volcanoes, torrential floods, massive landslides, drought and so on.
From the perspective of Nature as reflection of us, are we as a race creating so much internal and external turmoil bringing about inner and outer destruction? Are we massively polluting our inner temples and all the layers of mother Earth resulting in a massive 'internal shaking' in efforts to detox 'the gunk'? Are we firing our emotions beyond boundaries and spilling major rage and smoke only as a way of not internally imploding or are we literally spinning in circles without direction and creating vortex of untamed reactions?

Maybe beyond the limits of saying, sharing and listening on the reflections of Nature in us and us in Nature we can take it deeply to the core, the core of Self, the core of communities, the core of Nations and maybe, just maybe as we take the proper actions on the efforts of cleansing in and cleansing out, we as individuals will be able to not only reflect but truly embrace the peace of a sunset over the lake, taste the vibrancy of the orange right from the tree, own the courage of the tiger, acknowledge the wisdom of the turtle and the patience of the ostrich's egg.
And from that inner detox we assist on mother Earth care and cleanse so she will be embracing her on transformational /weather flows within a more and gentle ease.

Well, a thought just a thought!
Have a great day and enjoy the eyes and the mirrors of Nature on your daily path !

Can Yoga make you 'sick' ???

This is a cute and funny Blog by Ramdesh Kaur which I decided to share w/ you all.....enjoy it :) and have a good heart laugh through it ~ namaste

Can Yoga make you 'sick' ???

Oh no! I've discovered through extensive self-study corroborated by my dog and two blog readers that yoga can make you sick!  Beware these yoga-related diseases!

Persistent Happiness "Joyitis"

This disease is very dangerous.  No one likes someone who is persistently happy, preferring instead to be around those who form bonds through mutual complaining.  Symptoms include smiling, spontaneous laughter, a whole heart, and loving everyone.  If you find yourself suffering from Joyitis and want to be gloomy, cut your yoga practice.

Repeated Chanting  "Mantraitis"

I wish I could count the number of friend's I've lost to this scary disease.  Singing mantras not only sounds weird, but can also cause deep healing of long-time trauma, and who wants to loose residual trauma!  We worked hard for that trauma!  Definitely hold onto your trauma, prevent healing, and avoid that loosey-goosey feel good effect of chanting by refusing to sing or even listen to any inspiring mantras.

Unusual Flexibility "Gumbyitis"

Flexibility should be outlawed.  Rigidity really does make life better, and if you can't touch your toes or twist your spine you'll find you feel much more "normal" in your body.  Yoga is incredibly efficient at increasing flexibility physically which can lead to dangerous mental flexibility too.  You wouldn't want people to think you can love everyone, now would you?  Watch out!

Sustained Youth "Nowrinkleitis"

Nowrinkleitis is very worrisome.  There are some who claim that yoga can prevent aging and prolong youth.  That's just unholy.  We should all shrivel like prunes at the earliest possibility.  Definitely discontinue your yoga if you are finding side effects such as glowing skin, healthy internal organs, increased lung capacity and a youthful appearance.

If you experience any of these conditions, consult your yoga teacher today and  watch out for spontaneous laughter...it's a doozy!

Have a very healthy and delicious Yoga Day....today and today and today

Choosing to be happy !

This was placed on the front door of a healing center in a small town in Brazil.

The ‘cold’ drips down when the body is holding on to its tears.

The sore throat tightens when we cannot communicate our afflictions.

The stomach burns when the anger is not been released.

The diabetes expresses itself when loneliness hurts.

The body gets overweight when dissatisfaction overwhelms.

Headaches appear when doubts increase.

The heart gives in when the meaning of life is obscure.

Allergies show up when to be perfect becomes intolerable.

The nails break when the self-defenses become threatened.

The chest tightens when we slave self by pride.

Blood pressure heightens when fear imprisons.

Neurosis paralyze when the ‘inner child’ is abused.

Fever burns when the emotional defenses explode the immunity horizons.

Harvesting always comes after planting…Pay deep attention in what you are planting, since your harvesting is inevitable.

PS: Normally the ‘symptoms’ show up days or months after the “happening”, so check in what has been disturbing you and let it out by talking with friends, a professional if you choose, by feeling it, expressing it and choosing to move to that place of health and healing!....and surely smile, smile more and more

Wishing health, healing and the choice for inner peace, remember that your life is fully depended on your choices!!!

Thank you for reading, have a fabulous LIFE

EXCELLENCE ... 'not perfection' - A path worth taking

                                                    by Lou Corleto    ~   march 26 2011

This weekend Lydie and I went to bathe in one of our favorite artistic performances, Cirque Du Soleil.  If you have never seen one put it on your to do list now!!!
If you've seen it on DVD or TV make it a priority to go to a live show.

If you aren't move to tears by the "magic" you experience it's time to check in.
The first few words that come to mind are impeccable, freaky and mind blowing.
Impeccable because of the way the show is "delivered". The greatest attention to detail is placed on everything that is done, from the costumes, to the live music being played in sync with each and every performance.
Mind Blowing because while you are watching you mind is saying that is impossible.  "These people must be aliens".
Freaky because they are humans just like you and i.
They remind us of what the human body is capable when we commit to something with that degree of perseverance and dedication to their art.  The performers training MANY MANY hours everyday (some of them) only to perform for 20 minutes in the 2 hour show.

This brings me to my point of EXCELLENCE.

  Cirque Du Soleil- Totem
Here is a brief clip (which in no way does THE SHOW justice)

Excellence as define:
'a talent or quality which is unusually good and so surpasses ordinary standards'.

The Ancient Greeks had a concept of arete which meant an outstanding fitness for purpose. This occurs in the works of Aristotle and Homer. Another related concept was eudaimonia which was the happiness which resulted from a life well-lived, being prosperous and fulfilled.

Many people work towards perfection and that leads to madness for it is a state that does not exist.
You can strive for excellence in everything you do, no matter what you walk of life, profession, job or vocation.
Excellence in the areas of our relationships, academics, sports, hobbies (to name a few), causes us to GROW in all areas of our LIFE.  That is my definition of wellness, growing in all areas of our LIFE. (Wellness has nothing to do with the early detection and treatment of some labeled disease state- that is Wall Streets and Big Pharma's definition)

One area i would highly recommend you strive for excellence is in your health and well-being. Remember health and well-being are not "states" to achieve, they are not "places to arrive at". Yet they are states of being that require constant mind-fullness and proactive nurturing throughout your life. Wellness is an ATTITUDE which then directs your lifestyle choices.

Watch this very short clip to see what i mean.

Lydie  and I would like to invite you to be apart of the last healing retreat in the Caribbean we will be facilitating for many years.

"The Outer & Inner Seas"

The amazing opportunity to dive deep down & in the oceans of planet Earth is such a marvelous gift from life.
Exploring the natural beauty through the diversity of life in forms, shapes, colors, sizes, motions is a delightful gratitude awareness.
Observing the daily flow of the incredible ocean's cohabitants. The beauty of an elegant ray sweeping the sandy bottom, the mischievousness of the angel fishes looking for the best place to shine, the excitement of the puffers while inflating self and get ready to 'fight', ahhhh the lion fish as he poses for a picture on a rope of a king and the speed of a parrot fish  while munching on some interesting corals.

Talking about corals, wow how many colors, shapes, mysteries, surprises they hold and they express !
While you find the beauty and the gentle flow of sweet ocean passengers, you also experience the struggles for survival on moment by moment as they chase and get chased, as the surfer fishes take rides on bigger ones and on the next moment they might be the ride's favorite meal.     Or as for a glance the shark considered one of the most fantastic creature, can become the most feared one ! And without forgetting the glow of the start fish which might get a time to shine or might get a moment to hide.

How do we see and interact with this amazing universe which surround us ? How do we care for and protect it ?
Are the jelly fishes beauty or sting? Are the turtle wisdom or 'slow pokes' ? Is the barracuda a 'carnivore' or a protector ? Are the octopuses fearful or intriguing ? How about the creatures of the 'deep', the creatures of the night, the ugly, the unknown, the joyful, the scared ones....where do they all fit ???

As I go through those questions I realize the similarity or even the mirror image of our Outer and Inner Seas. The amazing beauty we have inside of Self, the mysteries, the excitements, the fears, the joyfulness, the mischievousness, the survival instincts, the multitask abilities (as the octopus), the ability to take rides and to be the ride, the giving and receiving of life, the wisdom and the constant desire to 'know', the struggles and the gentle flows, the 'deep & dark' and the 'light & easy'.

May we keep on diving, discovering and delighting within our own Inner and Outer Seas with respect, honoring, openness and truthfulness.

In joy and gratitude for this amazing Planet (in & out)
